My husband asked me this week why I’m creating this podcast if I don’t get any money out of it. I spend a lot of time interviewing people, editing, producing and publishing it (all by myself!), and I’m not sure if it’s a business thing, or just a male energy thing, but he just can’t seem to understand why I love creating anything that doesn’t bring in any moolah. The truth is that I love connection; I love talking to different people about all the things we have in common – because in this day and age when there is so much out there in the world meant to separate and divide us, it is important to remember that there are still many things that can unite us as human beings. And that’s what I aim to put out with this podcast – inspiring discussion around topics that will bring us back to love and kindness, and ultimately, ourselves. This week I chat to someone with one of the the biggest hearts I know. She has purple hair, two Boston Terriers and a very healthy obsession with cake and good coffee! If you haven’t guessed already, I’m talking about the wonderful Jane Killian aka GI Jane – Durban based women’s fitness trainer, Secret Sunrise owner and all-round sprinkler of happy energy and good vibes! And as of last week, Jane is also the creator of Unselfishly Me – a course designed to help women embrace and love their inner selves. In this episode we chat about about the “I am enough” movement, our personal journeys in coming to accept our bodies as they are, the sometimes ugly side of the body positivity and the awesome role social media can play in helping us choose our own inspirational role models. I absolutely loved this conversation and I adore Jane – she is a breath of fresh air in this world! I’m pretty sure you will adore her too too after this episode. To listen, click play below.
