After months and months of being asked by my family for advice on how to shop / cook / eat / live vegan, I decided in January to sit down and write out all my favourite recipes in an easy email. Over time, that email has became longer and longer. Friends and followers started asking me for recipes of the various dishes I posted on social media, and eventually people were asking me when I was going to write a cookbook. When my friend, Kate van Onselen, a photographer whom I have always admired, sniffed out my plan and asked to help with the photography and design of said book, I really didn’t have any more excuses to not do it!
So, after almost a year of writing and cooking and shooting and re-writing and editing, I am beyond chuffed to finally give you A Guide for Wildflowers – On Bringing Peace back to the Plate. This guide really is for everyone: from fledgling vegans who have no clue on where to start when it comes to shopping and cooking plant-based, to those who would just like to incorporate a little more vegan dishes into their weekly cooking repertoire.
The meals are all super easy and really do not require too much time or effort. The ingredients are accessible for South Africans – no foreign names or vegetables here! These dishes are tried and tested by my family and friends and are a great way to set you off on a healthier path to helping animals, other humans and the planet!
